TALKING POINTS FROM IMPRESSIVE POINT AT RELEGATED PREMIER LEAGUE OUTFIT
COVENTRY City extended their impressive unbeaten start to the new Championship season in an entertaining goalless draw against bitter rivals Leicester.
The 3,287-strong Sky Blue Army took a share of the bragging rights as well as the point at the King Power Stadium where goalkeeper Carl Rushworth was the visitors’ clear man of the match.
Jack Rudoni and Haji Wright went closest to scoring for Frank Lampard’s men - the midfielder testing the Foxes’ keeper Jakub Stolarczyk for the first time in the second half when City’s leading scorer later dragged a decent opportunity wide of the far post. But it was Rushworth who took the plaudits for the clean sheet at the other end with a number of saves, including an impressive stop to deny Stephy Mavididi who was clean through on goal. Here we take a look at some of the big talking points from the draw.
Rushy shows his worth
Rushworth had his most impressive and commanding game since joining the Sky Blues and came away with great credit for his part in Coventry's welcome clean sheet at Leicester.
The team have conceded some poor goals in their otherwise impressive sixgame unbeaten start to the Championship campaign, and the on-loan keeper from Brighton has been part of that collective responsibility.
