More cash for cameras to target danger drivers

PUBLIC SCHEME ENCOURAGES ALL ROAD USERS TO SUBMIT FOOTAGE

RECKLESS drivers who cause mayhem on West Midlands roads are being targeted by a public dashcam scheme which has been given a cash injection.

Operation Snap encourages road users to submit their own dashcam or other video footage to help bring bad drivers to book.

Now, the scheme has been handed an additional £165,000 to allow it to expand its team by West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster.

The scheme saw more than 16,200 video clips submitted last year and led to an 85 per cent success rate for those prosecuted.
