Lampard happy with progress of 'man of moment'

IT’S no secret that Frank Lampard is looking to boost his Coventry City wing options at the midway point of the season but the prospect of recalling Raphael Borge Rodrigues looks unlikely despite the player making a name for himself in League One.

The 22-year-old was sent out on loan to Wigan Athletic on transfer deadline day to gain valuable experience and regular game time after a handful of eye-catching friendly appearances over the summer and four competitive showings from the bench in August.

That came after a difficult first season at the CBS Arena when, having moved from Australian A League club Macarthur FC, he suffered a preseason injury that sidelined him for much of the 2024/25 campaign.

Described as ‘man of the moment’ in the local press in Wigan after scoring the equaliser against Huddersfield Town recently and then coming within inches of securing all three points for the Latics, only to see his shot come back off the crossbar.
