Hundreds of drivers caught on city's worst roads for speeding

THE city’s worst roads for speeding offences have been revealed - with hundreds of drivers being caught out on one every month.

New data, obtained via Freedom of Information requests to West Midlands Police, show the top 20 roads for speeding offences in Coventry. Around 40 people are caught every day on just these 20 roads in the city.

They account for nearly 15,000 incidents between them. Coventry's speeding hotspot was the section of London Road that separates Ringway St. Johns and Daventry Road.

Not only does the Daventry Roadbound portion of the A114 top the list with 5,195 offences, another 2,024 were caught going the other way too fast. That puts it third on the list.

It also means that people were caught speeding on that particular stretch of road 20 times per day, on average.
