Financial reshuffle puts roles at risk of redundancy

COVENTRY University Group has confirmed 249 roles are at risk of redundancy amid a financial reshuffle which has recently seen it announce a £59m deficit for the last financial year.

The Group, which includes Coventry University, Coventry University London and CU Group campuses in Coventry, London and Scarborough, previously said in December 2023 it needed to find savings of around £95m over two years.

As reported on Tuesday (15 April) the group previously revealed it would need to “resize our workforce”

We’ve now been told just shy of 250 roles are at risk of redundancy from across sites, though the group is creating 186 new jobs, which those made redundant can apply for.
