COMMUNITY LIBRARY LEASE TRIGGERS HOPES FOR FUTURE

JUST days after securing the future of their community library, the chair of the trustees is already looking to the future with plans to bring a neighbourhood eyesore back into use.

And if successful, it would also rid the area of a longstanding eyesore.

The volunteers running Earlsdon Carnegie Community Library signed a ten-year lease with Coventry City Council earlier this month after proving the historic building was in safe hands. Julie Rubidge, chair of the trustees, said it was a huge achievement for the library which offered the community so much more than just books. She added having the new lease would allow them to plan and raise funds for the long term.
