Homes bid site 'would give links to local services'

DOZENS of new homes could be built near a local household waste recycling centres if new plans are approved.
Crossman Acquisitions Ltd., which is based in Bath, has put forward outline plans to deliver 71 homes on Moorland Road at the northern edge of Street.
The company (which is part of the Crossman Group) intends to deliver a significant wildflower meadow to the east to provide a green buffer and offset any net increase in phosphates generated by the new homes. Somerset Council is expected to make a ruling on the proposals by the late-summer.
The site lies to the north of the existing homes on Moorland Road, bordered by the village's allotments and recycling centre to the east. Access would be achieved by extending Moorland Road to the north, with a children's play area being provided near the entrance.
