Calls for 'incendiary and reckless' rap act to be pulled from line up

A BAND set to play at this year’s Glastonbury Festival is facing calls from a campaign group to be dropped from the line-up.
Kneecap are due to perform on stage at Shangri-La at this year’s Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm.
And it’s not just Glastonbury Festival, the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is urging any venue or festival where the band is set to play to pull them from the programme.
It has called the band “reckless and incendiary’, adding that allowing the band to perform at such venues or festivals could be seen as “sending a message that Jews are not welcome”
As reported by The Times, Kneecap, a rap trio from Belfast consisting of members DJ Provai, Mo Chara and Moglai Bap, have sparked controversy of late by projecting messages such as “f*** Israel” and “free Palestine” onto screens during their Coachella set earlier this month.
‘The group ended their set at the US music festival in California with three messages on a screen that accused Israel of genocide and war crimes against Palestinians.
