POLICE are appealing for information after 11 sheep were found drowned in a river, having been chased down a hillside in Carmarthen.

The incident happened last weekend on land close to Alltycnap Road in the Johnstown area of the town.

According to police, a flock of sheep were “chased and driven down an embankment into a river".

Eleven of them were discovered by the owner lying dead in the water at the bottom of the embankment.

Images of the deceased sheep have been shared online.
