Women Police Conference concludes; Govt committed to their welfare : Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad, Aug 22 : Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Friday assured that the state government is firmly committed to the welfare of women police personnel and ready to implement the recommendations that emerged from the three-day state-level Women Police Officers' Conference held at the Telangana State Police Academy.

Addressing the valedictory session, Bhatti said that gender bias at the time of posting duties was not acceptable since there was no such discrimination during recruitment. "The suggestion to drop the word 'women' from women police is a progressive idea. Once officers are selected on merit, they must be treated on par in postings and responsibilities," he said, extending his support to the recommendation.
