State Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that all the irrigation projects undertaken in the united Nalgonda district will be completed and the district will be greened.

On Monday, he, along with State Roads, Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the Bakkatayakunta lift irrigation project to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore 22 lakh at Bakkatayakunta near the Nalgonda district headquarters, the Punugodu lift irrigation project to be constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore 8 lakh, and the Narsing Batla lift irrigation project to be constructed at a cost of Rs 19.95 crore. He also laid the foundation stone of an additional block to be constructed in the District Collector's Office at a cost of Rs 36 crore.

Speaking at a public meeting organized after viewing a photo exhibition organized by the Civil Supplies Department, the Minister said that the previous government had not undertaken any irrigation work in Nalgonda district. He said that after coming to power, Rs 1800 crore was sanctioned to provide water through the Dindi Lift Irrigation, which farmers have been waiting for for many years, and the work has started. He also announced that Rs 442 crore has been sanctioned for the High Level Canal, and that lift irrigation will be sanctioned to provide irrigation water from Pillayapalli Canal, Shivanna Gudem to Narayanpur and Choutuppal. He said that Musi will be renovated and benefit the farmers of the joint Nalgonda district. He said that SLBC will be completed during his tenure. He assured that in addition to the Dunnapotula Gandi lift irrigation, four more lift irrigation projects will be completed, and the IT Pamula lift works will also be expedited and completed.
