In a major boost to rural infrastructure, Minister for Agriculture, Marketing, Cooperation and Handlooms Tummala Nageswara Rao laid the foundation stone for the 33/11 kV SubStation at V. Venkataya palem, urging officials to complete the works on a war footing by Sankranthi. The project, linked to the Manchu konda Lift Irrigation Scheme, is aimed at providing reliable electricity to high capacity motors to support irrigation. He stressed the need to retain water in village tanks during the summer and ensure rapid completion of the project.
