State Forest Development Corporation Chairman Podem Veerayya stated that Telangana is emerging as a role model for the nation in terms of development and welfare.

(Capital Information) Jayashankar Bhupalpally , June 02 : State Forest Development Corporation Chairman Podem Veerayya stated that Telangana is emerging as a role model for the nation in terms of development and welfare. He was the chief guest at the State Formation Day celebrations held at the IDOC office on Monday. He paid rich tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of the state. Later, he arrived at the IDOC office, received the police guard of honor, hoisted the national flag, and addressed the public about various development and welfare programs. He explained the implementation of several schemes under different departments

Bank Linkage : He said the government has given top priority to women's financial development. This financial year, bank linkage loans were targeted for 6,384 groups amounting to ₹255.82 crore. So far, 256 crore has been sanctioned to 3,098 groups. Interest-free loans of ₹10.53 crore have been sanctioned to 6,255 groups.

Streenidhi : He said ₹24.56 crore in bank loans was targeted under the Streenidhi scheme to enhance the livelihoods of rural people. So far, ₹16.37 crore has been sanctioned.

Mahila Shakti : To promote women's self-reliance, the Mahila Shakti initiative was launched. Awareness was created to make Mahila Shakti Canteens a model brand. Through women self-help groups, 13 types of opportunities for self-employment were created. Out of the target of 14,561 women, 4,877 have been selected so far.

Maha Lakshmi Free Bus Travel : Immediately after taking oath, the Chief Minister launched free RTC bus travel for women. So far, 1.24 lakh women have availed free travel, saving ₹123.88 crore for families. The government is reimbursing RTC for the cost of this scheme.
