Punjab Congress Raises Concern Over Deteriorating law & Order and Alleged Massive Land Scam

Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Partap Singh Bajwa and Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring have raised the issues of law & order and new land pooling policy in the state.

Partap Singh Bajwa, has written to Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan demanding the extension of the ongoing Special Session of the Punjab Assembly by at least two additional days, citing two pressing issues of grave public concern — deteriorating law and order and the massive %40,000 crore land scam being carried out under the guise of the so-called “Land Pooling Policy.”

Bajwa has labelled the AAP government's “Land Pooling Policy” as nothing but a “Land Fooling Policy”, calling it the biggest land scam in Punjab’s post-Independence history. He warned that this scheme is a deceptive plan to grab over 40,000 acres of fertile agricultural land in Punjab under the pretence of urban development.

“The very land that sustained Punjab through the Green Revolution is now under threat from Kejriwal’s Delhi-based corporate cronies,” Bajwa said. He asserted that the Letters of Intent (LOls) being given to farmers are vague, carry no legal or financial guarantees, and are part of a predatory design to dispossess farmers and enrich private players.
