District Collector Ila Tripathi said that dealers' role is important in providing quality seeds to farmers on time.Speaking at an awareness seminar organized by the Agriculture Department for seed dealers at Panagallu Rythu Vedika near Nalgonda district headquarters on Saturday, she warned that dealers should be transparent in the matter of seeds and should not tempt farmers, and strict action will be taken if farmers are cheated.

She said that no complaints should be received against dealers in the matter of seeds. If necessary, the seeds given by dealers to farmers should be checked at agricultural research centers like Kampasagar and their quality should be tested, and farmers should also test the seeds they receive. She also appealed not to encourage fake seeds and those who sell seeds from other places, and to act as a fellow human being, not as a dealer, in providing seeds to farmers.
