Mahabubnagar MP and DISHA Chairperson Smt. D.K. Aruna emphasized that all centrally funded welfare schemes must be implemented effectively and transparently to reach eligible beneficiaries at the grassroots level.

She urged officials to create widespread awareness about these schemes to ensure no deserving individual is left out.

Chairing the District Development and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting on Tuesday at the Integrated District Offices Complex (Collectorate), she reviewed various central government schemes being implemented in the district. She stressed that developmental projects and schemes funded by the Centre, often in coordination with state contributions, should be executed efficiently to benefit the poor, marginal, and small-scale farmers.

The meeting included reviews of schemes under the Agriculture, Health, Marketing, Education, Welfare, Infrastructure, Civil Supplies, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Electricity, and Women & Child Welfare Departments, as well as the Tribal Development Department.

The District Agriculture Officer informed that Rs. 72.2 lakhs were sanctioned for 252 units under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana for the distribution of agricultural mechanization equipment at a 50% subsidy. These include 13 types of machinery. The allocated funds are Rs. 53,65,548 for the General category, Rs. 11,05,852 for SCs, and Rs. 6,48,700 for STs.

When MP Aruna inquired about the selection process for beneficiaries, the officer said applications were being received. Aruna emphasized that beneficiaries must be selected strictly according to government guidelines, without political interference. The District Collector added that mandal-level and district-level selection committees would be constituted to ensure fair selection.
