Assam intensifies drive against illegal Bangla immigrants

The Assam police have detained several suspected Bangladeshi citizens in various districts of the state following the Central government's instruction to verify illegal Bangladeshi and Myanmar citizens across states and Union Territories.
-
Hundreds of suspected persons have been picked up for the last three days by members of Assam police and efforts are in to verify their identity, officials said.
