Ye’s unfiltered doccie, Doja Cat’s new album and more

Here’s what made headlines locally and abroad.

Kanye West documentary gives raw look at his life

Kanye West, now Ye, released the trailer for his highly anticipated documentary, In Whose Name. The film promises an unfiltered look into his highs and lows, including his controversial statements, mental health struggles, and his marriage to Kim Kardashian.

The minute-long trailer features brief appearances from Kardashian and their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

The documentary, compiled from 3 000 hours of footage over six years, highlights Ye's creativity, paranoia, and intensity. Ye did not have editorial control, leaving the story in the hands of filmmaker Nico Ballesteros. According to producer Simran A. Singh, this ensures a raw and independent portrayal, allowing viewers to interpret events for themselves. The film screens in selected cinemas from September 19.

Doja Cat announces fifth album, Vie

American rapper Doja Cat teased her fifth studio album, Vie, set for release on September 26.

The project will explore romance and intimacy.

The announcement came with a surreal teaser video in which Grammy-award winner Doja Cat holds a rose, whispers French phrases, and adds her playful, theatrical touch.

She also launched a Vie Hotline for fans to hear her thoughts on love.
