Political shake-up as Majingo leaves ANC for DA

THE leader of the African National Con gress (ANC) in the City of Cape Town, councillor Bandile Majingo resigned as leader of the opposition yesterday and joined the Democratic Alliance (DA).

This has sent shockwaves through the political sector. In a statement, Majingo said this move comes with careful consideration.

“I have come to realise that my per sonal values and principles are now more aligned with those of the Democratic Alliance. I am committed to the pur suit of clean governance and economic growth. I am increasingly impressed with their commitment to deliver for poor, residents and the unemployed,” he said.

Majingo is a member of the finance and MPac Committees.
