MUCH is being said about the group of white Afrikaners who left for the United States recently.
The black commentariat, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, has been quick to condemn the action of these whites, misguided as they may be.
However, if I were a white Afrikaner, I too would take advantage of Donald Trump's offer to settle in the United States. It's not a land of milk and honey. There's an 8% sales tax and the ubiquitous gratuity which ranges from 10% to 30%, and it is compulsory or fixed in some restaurants. Tipping is a concept foreign to most South Africans.
