'Influx' of young people has helped church to raise roof

A CHURCH which has seen an "influx" of young people join is said to have "transformed" lives.

The Calvary Chapel Church in Cameron Road, Cambridge, has been raising “much-needed” funds to repair its leaky roof. In just over 10 days, the £8,000 of funds needed were successfully raised, with work already under way to complete the repairs.

Pastor James Peat believes the funds were raised so quickly as “people saw the important need” for the church. “We are delighted with what has happened and how quick it was,” he said.

“The church has been open for 46 years and needed the repairs.

“People see the church is being used, and it shows people’s commitment to one another and God.”
