Funds needed to bring swimming pool back into use

A TRUST is raising money to reopen a Cambridgeshire town’s swimming pool.

The Empress Swimming Pool in Park Street, Chatteris, opened in 1964 after local builder Percy Rooke converted it from an old cinema.
The pool was closed for routine maintenance in December 2023. However it was discovered there were more structural problems than first thought so has remained closed since then.
The structural work can be completed by a builder, however the Empress Swimming Pool Trust now needs to raise money to pay for the work.
