Strategic oil reserve estimated to cost P30 billion — DoE

A STRATEGIC oil reserve capable of holding 30 days of reserves could cost P30 billion, according to the Department of Energy (DoE).
On the sidelines of an event late Wednesday, Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin said the plan to build up a reserve good for 30 days doubles the current levels held by private companies of about 15 days, the minimum they are required to maintain by law.
The plan is to eventually have 60 days of reserves and possibly more, Ms. Garin said.
