GOLD rose more than 2% to a three-week high on Monday, fueled by a fresh wave of safe-haven demand on uncertainty over US President Donald J. Trump’s tariff plans after he vowed to raise duties following the Supreme Court’s ruling against his earlier levies.

Spot gold was up 2% at $5,206.39 per ounce by 1:33 p.m. ET (1833 GMT), having hit its highest since Jan. 30 earlier in the session. The metal touched a record high of $5,594.82 an ounce on Jan. 29,

US gold futures for April delivery settled 2.8% higher at $5,225.60.
