The racing season is on as the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup roars off today, March 13, featuring the new generation Tamaraw at Riverbank, Cavite.

Extending up to March 14-15, the innovative Tamaraw One-Make-Race (OMR) will blast off on a 2.4-km street race that promises a new infinite action of man and machine as Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) pursues its mission to unleash only world-class rubber-burning extravaganza for the delectation of local racing fans.

“And, as usual, it is for free,” said Mixie Flavier, TMP's hardworking drumbeater.

Allana Faith Rufo, TMP's resident racing writer, will tell us more:

“The TGR Philippine Cup, the country's premier OMR series since 2014, attracted more than 12,000 spectators last year as fans enjoyed exciting races and driving exhibitions, and musical performances by OPM (Original Pilipino Music) rock stars in the classic that also visited south of Manila in Bacoor, Cavite.

“Now on its 12th season, the TGR Philippine Cup is officially adding the Next Generation Tamaraw OMR to its lineup of locally made racing vehicles, alongside the Vios OMR. As an OMR event, same-spec Tamaraw OMRs will be going wheel-to-wheel in Sprint Races, showcasing driver skill and grit.
