Switzerland updates tariffs on processed farm products

SWITZERLAND has updated tariffs on processed farm products based on a routine measure to shield its domestic industries against cheaper imports, a move that could affect the margins of Philippine exporters.
The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) recently issued an advisory for Philippine exporters regarding Berne’s move to update its duty rates as a price compensation measure on processed agricultural goods, effective February 1, 2026.
Such adjustment follows Switzerland’s routine pricing update and covers items classified in several Harmonized System (HS) codes, including: yoghurt and dairy spreads (Chapter 4); margarine (Chapter 15); sugar confectionery (Chapter 17).
