MORE interoperability drills among the air and naval forces of the Philippines, Australia, Japan, and the United States can be expected in the coming months following the conclusion of the Third Multilateral Joint Staff Talks among the militaries of the four nations, the Armed Forces (AFP) said on Thursday.
-
Aside from Filipino military representatives, also present during the meeting from March 2 to 3 were ranking officers of the Australian Defense Force, the Japan Self-Defense Force, and the US Indo-Pacific Command.
“The Multilateral Joint Staff Talks serve as a key platform for senior military leaders and planners to enhance coordination, improve interoperability, and reinforce mutual understanding among like-minded nations,” the AEP said in a statement.
“The talks underscored the continued commitment of the four nations’ armed forces to strengthen defense cooperation and advance shared security interests in the Indo-Pacific Region.”
