Marcos vows to boost women's participation in govt, workforce amid PHL’s ranking drop

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. pledged to boost women’s roles in government and the workforce through greater educational access for girls.
The Chief Executive made the commitment after expressing concern on the drop in the country’s global ranking in terms of women serving in national parliaments this year to 86th from 82nd in December of 2022.
He also expressed frustration when only 50.7 percent of the country women were part of the labor force as of January, which is lower compared to the 74 percent labor force participation among males.
