Govt poised to intervene on critical USD-PHP rates
Business Mirror
|March 11, 2026
MALACAÑANG vowed to support the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) interventions if the Philippine peso continues to weaken against the US dollar amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said other concerned government agencies are also closely monitoring the economic impact of the crisis to keep in check the prices of oil and basic commodities.
“If the [drop in the value of the peso] will continue, there really will be intervention. And that will be approved by the government,” said in Filipino in a news conference in New York, United States of America.
