FIREFIGHTERS URGE PEOPLE TO HELP CUT WILDFIRE RISK
FIREFIGHTERS tackled 24 outdoor fires in just one day as the continued hot weather puts pressure on crews.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with all the outdoor fires, which were either deliberate or avoidable, on Sunday, August 10.
Now the service is urging the public to help reduce the risk of wildfires and water-related incidents across the county.
Ian Read, Head of Prevent, Protect and Partnerships, said the sunny and dry weather means there is a real risk of a large fire occurring.
