'Striker Beesley has made huge impact'

BURTON boss Gary Bowyer believes his centre forward is the Bees knees and he loves him to bits.

- By DAN NEWBOULD

Jake Beesley is a vital cog in the Brewers machine and tops the stats for most headers won per match in the league by some distance.

Beesley has spoken openly about wanting to add more goals to his name but he still has five already since signing in the summer, after scoring against his old club Blackpool at the weekend with a trademark bullet header to make it two in two league games, and Bowyer believes what he offers to the team from his all round game simply cannot be measured.

He played another key part in the performance against Blackpool on Saturday.

He occupies defenders, draws fouls, brings teammates into the game with his head and feet and puts the hard yards in and does the ugly work off the ball that sometimes goes unmissed and not everyone is willing to do.
