'Milestone' for £25m zoo project

TOPPING OUT CEREMONY HELD FOR GLOBAL CONSERVATION CENTRE

CONSTRUCTION on Twycross Zoo's £25 million Global Conservation Centre has reached a key stage - with the building frame now complete.

The milestone marks significant progress in the creation of what will be a world-first hub for conservation research, education, and collaboration.

A topping out ceremony was held to bring together representatives from Twycross Zoo and key project partners.

Set to open in 2027, the state-of-the-art facility has received £18 million from the government's Levelling Up Fund - the largest single government grant ever awarded to a UK zoo.

It is being delivered by Henry Brothers Construction in partnership with Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and leading UK universities.
