SCHEME TO BOOST OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN TO VISIT ARBORETUM
Schoolchildren visiting the National Memorial Arboretum, also below
THE National Memorial Arboretum has launched a fund to increase opportunities for children as it welcomes more than 25,000 young people for learning visits every year.
The Access for Learning Fund aims to ensure that all school children, regardless of their background, have the access they need to the Alrewas-based arboretum's real-world learning experiences, helping to support their understanding of history and Remembrance in Staffordshire.
The arboretum's educational programmes play a vital role in passing on the baton of Remembrance, but rising transport costs and shrinking school budgets are making it increasingly difficult for many pupils to take part.
