Cup goals for Eames and Oguntolu, but loss to Robins leaves U21s with work to do
Burton Mail

GOALS from Owen Eames and Justin Oguntolu were unable to prevent Derby County Under-21s slipping to a 3-2 defeat away at Bristol City in the Premier League Cup on Tuesday.
-
The result leaves Danny Maye's side third in the competition's Group B on four points after as many games. But with ties against leaders Sheffield United and Stoke City still to play, qualification for the knockout stages remain within reach of the young Rams.
The return fixture with the Potters takes place in Stoke this Sunday, with kickoff at 2pm. The two sides played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the competition.
Derby found themselves behind early on at the Robins’ High Performance Centre when Luke Skinner fired the hosts in front, but Maye’s charges hit back and dominated for long spells in the opening 45 minutes before Eames, who was with the first team 24 hours earlier for the Championship fixture with Sheffield Wednesday, levelled with a composed finish.
But Ruebin Sheppard and Ephraim Yeboah's quickfire goals just after the hour mark saw the home side claim the victory, despite Oguntolu's late strike.
