Competition celebrated golf club's new extension

MEMBERS of Burton on Trent Golf Club celebrated the official opening of its extended course with a competition.
The opening of the new-look course on August 1, 1976 took the form of an annual invitation day when members invited a guest to partner them followed by a meal in the clubhouse.
Taking part in the competition were 90 golf club members along with 90 guests.
Club director Jim Pirie said the extended green had met with 'a favourable response'.
