A League win at last but not before Brewers sack Robinson

It's the time of year, as we wait for things to happen, when we take a look back at how the season just ended panned out, month by month. And even by Burton Albion's standards it was a roller-coaster, as the club set out with high expectations, fell into trouble and eventually escaped relegation with a game to spare. After a bright start, by the end of September, the Brewers were still without a League win... and so it went on.

A League win at last but not before Brewers sack Robinson

OCTOBER

Albion started October with two more demoralising 3-1 defeats.

Reading cruised to theirs at home, ahead by two first half goals and adding a late third before Danilo Orsi pulled one back.

There was hope at home to Bristol Rovers next as they were in a bad run themselves and an early goal for Orsi, from an exquisite Elliot Watt pass, should have been a spring-board.

But Rovers powered back to win 3-1 after the break and Burton had Terence Vancooten sent off.

The days of being a bogey team for Bolton Wanderers are gone and two goals for Aaron Collins, either side of Orsi’s equaliser, gave them a 2-1 win next.

High-flying Wycombe Wanderers next at the Pirelli and the Brewers competed well. Twice they fell behind and twice they equalised, Orsi scoring for the fourth straight game and Charlie Webster, finally fit, announcing himself with a brilliant strike.
