'Proud' Harrison on a mission in cousin's memory

Harrison Hawkins, from Weston-super-Mare, lost his cousin Ethan Treharne, who was just 17, after a two-year battle against an aggressive brain tumour.

Ethan went through three operations, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and accessed private immunotherapy treatment in Germany. Tragically, he passed away in 2021.

Harrison has been inspired to raise money for A New Hope for Ethan, a fundraising group for the Brain Tumour Research in honour of his cousin. Harrison, who raised £170 for the cause selling tombola tickets at the Grand Pier last weekend, said: “Ethan was quite a bit older than me, but I remember him well. We shared a love of sport and particularly football.

“Since Ethan died, I've helped at the annual A New Hope for Ethan Sellebrity Soccer matches in Sand-hurst, when we mark Ethan's birthday on January 29. I volunteer as a ball boy and support Nikki, Ethan’s mum, on the charity stall.
