Officer failed to record domestic violence allegation

A FORMER Avon and Somerset Police officer who failed to record an allegation of domestic assault has been found guilty of gross misconduct.
-
David Hawkins, 43, would have been dismissed without notice had he not already resigned from the force prior to the public misconduct hearing.
He will now be added to the College of Policing’s barred list, preventing him from serving in law enforcement ever again.
The hearing, held at Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead heard the former PC attended a domestic incident in 2018.
