Jewson Title triumph sets Posset up for Southern League football

PORTISHEAD Town will be playing Southern League football next season, just two years after finishing 13th in the Western League First Division.
The stunning transformation under Kye Mountford’s leadership continued on Good Friday when Portishead were confirmed as Premier Division champions following Clevedon Town’s 1-0 defeat to Nailsea & Tickenham in a lunchtime kick-off.
As it transpired, even a Clevedon win wouldn’t have stopped Mountford’s men as Portishead edged out Brislington 1-0 at Bristol Road in the afternoon, watched by a bumper attendance of 519.
A second-half goal from Jay Murray was enough to give Portishead a 29th victory of a remarkable campaign, and a 14th win from the last 15 games.
Murray and leading goalscorer Ethan Feltham have both signed contracts for next season and Portishead appear in a good place to build on back-to-back promotions in the Southern League.
