Football Robins looking elsewhere in search for an additional striker
Bristol Post
|January 21, 2026
BRISTOL City are set to turn their attention elsewhere in their search for a new striker this January, the Bristol Post understands, with the deal previously mooted by Gerhard Struber unlikely to be completed due to the target's current club now wishing to keep the player on their books.

The Robins are keen to bolster their attacking ranks this month, having been unable to bring a new centre-forward to Ashton Gate in the final days of the summer, with Struber eager to add another striking option to his squad to support Emil Riis and Sinclair Armstrong.
For much of the winter window so far, the City head coach has suggested the Robins have been “close” to agreeing a deal for an as-yet unnamed target. Following Saturday afternoon’s draw with Oxford United, the Austrian was optimistic such a signing would be completed before last night's trip to Ipswich Town as “big final conversations” were underway.
