Football Former Forest Green winger hoping for Rovers deal
Bristol Post
|July 31, 2025
FOR the beady-eyed Bristol Rovers fans who attended the club's open training session last Friday, they will have spotted the involvement of a mystery player.
Said individual then started as a trialist the following day in the 1-0 friendly win at Oxford United.
In the modern era, it only takes a few pictures to do the rounds on social media before someone can identify a player on trial. It was the same when Rovers had Ryan Howley and Tom Cove on trial earlier in preseason; Howley, of course, has since signed a two-year contract with the Pirates.
The mystery trialist has been confirmed as winger Jordon Garrick, who was most recently at Forest Green Rovers.
The 27-year-old Jamaican started his professional career at Swansea City and has also played for Swindon Town, Plymouth Argyle and Lincoln City in loan spells before he joined Forest Green permanently in January 2023.
After suffering back-to-back relegations with the Gloucestershire outfit, Garrick left the New Lawn last summer and joined Oldham Athletic in the National League for a brief period. He then returned to Forest Green in December for a second spell.
