'Challenging market' Harbour suffers events drop-off

ONE in four events planned for Bristol Harbour this year have been cancelled, leaving a worrying dent in its finances.
And the hugely popular Queen Square Live concerts are also taking a break in 2026, it has been announced.
A total of 13 out of about 50 events scheduled this year in and around the harbour have been scrapped, a report to Bristol city councillors said.
The most noteworthy are Wingfest, which is moving to the Prospect Building, and Overground which has been axed.
The report, to be discussed by the harbour committee on Tuesday next week said the cancellations demonstrated the “challenging market conditions and fragility in the events sector”.
It said predicted income for 2026 was £114,560 compared with £145,000 last year.
