Athletics Bristol & West women looking strong for road relay

BRISTOL & West AC head up the M5 again this weekend, aiming to show a strong display of firepower for the England Athletics Autumn Road Relay Championships.

Because of its place in the calendar, coming at the end of a long track season when many runners have taken a break and before the winter campaign really kicks off, this is one of the hardest events for team managers to get out their strongest runners.

With the men's race comprising just six runners and the women four, it opens up the chance of success to many different clubs who don't necessarily have great strength in depth.

But B&W's team managers have pulled out the stops this year and, on paper, are fielding their strongest combined squads for a long while.

The women's A squad comprises arguably four of their strongest runners available with the quartet comprising Deborah Bruce, Chelsea Creak, Charlotte Taylor and Chelsea Baker.
