Ahmed inspires Weston victory over their rivals

TAHMID Ahmed enjoyed a tremendous day with bat and then ball as Weston-super-Mare saw off local rivals Clevedon by 58 runs to go second in WEPL Premier Two Bristol/Somerset at this early stage of the season.

Ahmed top scored on 73, sharing a crucial fifth wicket stand of 121 with Tom Hall (55) in Weston's challenge of 219 after winning the toss.
Clevedon then came up well short against Ahmed (3-24 from five) while there were also there wickets apiece for Harry Gadsden and New Zealander all-rounder Lachie Bailey.
Bishopston emerged 36-run home victors against OB Westbury but there was a certain amount of relief at the end of the match after some brutal hitting from Danish international Jino Jojo.
