Medieval parade for international event

LAST week, the sun baked down as Boston came alive with young history lovers and brightly coloured flags.

International Hanseatic Day 2025 took place on Saturday, May 31 in front of St Botolph and the medieval parade gave Boston's young people the chance to show off in front of the crowds.

The organisers were taken aback by the weather. Sophie Arnold, from Transported Art said: "It was incredibly sunny. It was really lovely and sunny."

Alison Fairman B.E.M. of Boston Preservation Trust said: "Oh God yes - was it sunny - it was jolly hot - we all got burned."

Transported Art ran creative workshops in the run up to the event, including: free silk painting workshops - worked with Boston College and Boston Grammar School.
