Man pleads guilty to raping girl when he was 15 years old

A MAN has been sentenced for raping a girl when he was 15 years old. Eimantas Matasevicius, now 22, committed the offence in 2018, when the victim was under 13 years old.

A court heard Lincolnshire Police were contacted by a school in Boston during November 2018, after the schoolgirl reported she had been raped. After the allegation was made Matasevicius returned to his native Lithuania. But in August 2022 information was received by the force that he had returned to the UK.

A wanted appeal was circulated for Matasevicius, of South Terrace, Boston, and he was arrested in April 2023.

A plea trial was held in January 2025, during which the defendant admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl, but stated that he had thought she was 15 years old.
