Beswick scoops two 75-pointers to seal victory in angling club match

There's been some fantastic catches for Fylde coast fisherman over the past week with a wide variety of species to target for both bait and lure anglers.

Sunday evening's Fleetwood and District Angling Club match was low water at Chatsworth, conditions were perfect, calm overcast and warm.

At the start of the match we needed to cross a gully to reach a bank. Fortunately, a few plaice came out of the gully.

Once everyone had got to the bank, fish were coming out regularly.

Smoothound were the main catch, but the odd tope pups, thornback, bass dogs and plaice were caught.

Ian Hewitt and Neil Porter were building up a good bag of hounds closely followed by David Bayliss.

Congratulations to match winner John Beswick who had two 75-point fish. Equal second were David Bayliss Neil Porter and Andy Denton, with Alex Garden third.
