AKS are beaten on opening day at Macclesfield

The senior hockey season started at AKS with a 2-0 defeat for the first team against Kings Macclesfield in the Independent Schools Cup.
After travelling to Cheshire, AKS encountered a well-organised Kings team who started with purpose.
The visitors came under great pressure but fine defending from Sophia Murray, Esther Thomson and Lilly Gartside, along with fantastic saves from Sophie Slawson, kept the scores level until Kings scored two quick goals.
