Wolves will come good with more hard work, vows Vitor

WOLVES' losing start to the Premier League season extended to five matches after newly-promoted Leeds came from behind to win 3-1 at Molineux.

- By SUNNY BADWAL

Wanderers’ head coach Vitor Pereira admitted his team had endured another tough afternoon, but he remains confident one good result will change their fortunes.

The Portuguese was backed by the Molineux hierarchy with a new three-year deal last week but there was nothing for him to celebrate as Leeds picked up their first win since the opening day of the season - and first on the road.

Wolves are still without a point and defeat left them rooted to the bottom of the table, already four points adrift of safety and seven behind the Whites.

“We know we need to improve. The first half was not in our level and second half we decided to take more risks and play with two strikers and it was different,’ said Pereira.

“It is a difficult time for us but the way to get better is to keep working. Mentally, we need a result to give us the confidence, to not commit easy mistakes and give us the confidence in the box. Sometimes it just needs a result to make it change. This is a time we need to be together and help our players”

Wolves took the lead in a Premier League match for the first time this season through Ladislav Krejci’s first goal for the club, but Daniel Farke’s men ran riot in the last 15 minutes of the half to flip the game on its head.
