THE family of a man killed in his light aircraft when it crashed after taking off from Birmingham have paid tribute to him as a "deeply loving father and a devoted husband.

Pilot Arian Abbasi, 36, died alongside his passenger when the Cirrus SR20 plane crashed into fields in Littleborough, outside Rochdale, after departing Birmingham at 10am on Tuesday.
